Film Screening: "The Act of Killing" Thursday, October 16, 2014 | 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The Act of Killing is a critically acclaimed documentary following Anwar Congo, considered the founding father of a right-winged paramilitary group, as he undergoes a powerful transformation and comes to terms with what he did to so many people in North Sumatra. 

A free public screening will take place October 16, 4:00 p.m., in 335 Borlaug Hall.

After the screening, a panel of experts from the University of Minnesota’s Department of Family Social Science, the Center for Victims of Torture, and the University of York’s Centre for Applied Human Rights in the United Kingdom will discuss the intersection between human rights and psychological trauma in addition to answering audience questions.
