Aid for future teachers

Every year, our students receive over $800,000 in scholarships. The scholarships below are for prospective students who are applying or are enrolled in one of CEHD's initial licensure/MEd programs.

Students pursuing licensure in math, science, or ESL may be considered for the Schulze Future Teacher Scholarship Program.

How to apply

If your program is eligible for CEHD teacher education scholarships, you will find the scholarship application embedded in the graduate school program application for admission. The priority application deadline for the 2024-25 academic year is January 15, 2024.

Students who have completed their licensure and are finishing their final MEd requirements are eligible for the MEd Award of Recognition. This scholarship requires a separate application.

Federal TEACH Grant

Students in select program areas might be eligible for the federal TEACH Grant. Make sure to review and understand the grant service obligation before applying to avoid possible repayment penalties down the road.

Visit the U of M ONESTOP to learn about TEACH Grant eligibility at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and contact ONESTOP for the application information.
