Commencement

The 2020 CEHD commencement ceremonies will be held Friday, May 15, 2020 at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

  • The undergraduate ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
  • The graduate ceremony will begin at 4 p.m.

CEHD commencement is held once a year in the spring. No tickets are necessary, and seating is available on a first-come basis. 3M Arena at Mariucci has ample seating for any number of guests.

Undergraduate student commencement

The 2020 CEHD undergraduate commencement ceremony is Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10 a.m. at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Participating in commencement

  • RSVP. The deadline to RSVP is Monday, April 20.
  • Order your cap and gown at GradFest in March, the University Bookstores, or online.
  • Consider applying to be the undergraduate commencement speaker. The application will ask you for a draft of your speech. Limit your speech to no more than 500 words. In general, you should address your own authentic college experiences. Given the wide range of majors in CEHD - business, education, health and wellness, and human services - the speech should resonate with the diverse experiences of all graduates of CEHD. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 10.
  • If your participation in commencement would not be possible without financial assistance, consider applying for a commencement scholarship. Limited funds are available, and scholarships will be given based on financial need, the amount of scholarship funds available, and the reasons you provide for needing assistance. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 3.

Graduate student commencement

Participating in commencement

  • Submit your request to participate in commencement by Monday, April 20. This request will be sent to your department for approval. You can expect to receive a confirmation email within five business days following your submission.
  • Order your cap and gown at GradFest in March, the University Bookstores, or online.
  • If your participation in commencement would not be possible without financial assistance, consider applying for a commencement scholarship. Limited funds are available, and scholarships will be given based on financial need, the amount of scholarship funds available, and the reasons you provide for needing assistance. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 3.
