Event Summary:
Join us for a partnered career event with CEHD Career Services and the School of Kinesiology. This planned event will cover topics related to transferable skills and the interviewing process. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters!

What to Expect from the Event:
●    Learn more about Transferable Skills: how to identify, reflect on, and easily articulate transferable skills that have been developed through academic, classroom, job, and/or volunteer experiences.
●    Explore how Transferable Skills might be highlighted and incorporated within your written career related materials (e.g. letters of interest, cover letters, correspondences, applications, resume, C.V., etc.)
●    Investigate how Transferable Skills can be integrated within your interpersonal interactions (e.g. an introduction, a brief interaction and/or meeting, when responding to questions and inquiries, interviewing, etc.) throughout the job search process and also when engaging in other "real" world and professional settings.
●    Join in a conversation around the Interviewing process. Discuss ways to prepare for and approach the process with more confidence, develop strategies, and explore ways to best present and share your skills and experiences.
●    Receive a brief introduction to the Handshake and Quinnicia platforms and also receive guidance on where/how to learn more about these and related resources.

This event is welcome to all CEHD undergraduate students as the topics are applicable to students at every level and any major.

The University of Minnesota shall provide equal access to and opportunity in its programs, facilities, and employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, familial status, disability, public assistance status, membership or activity in a local commission created for the purpose of dealing with discrimination, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. All are welcome.

The University of Minnesota campuses were built on the traditional homelands of the Dakota and Ojibwe, and scores of other Indigenous peoples who have walked on these lands from time immemorial. It is important to acknowledge the peoples on whose land we live, learn, and work as we seek to improve and strengthen our relations with our tribal nations. We also acknowledge that words are not enough. We must ensure that our institution provides support, resources, and programs that increase access to all aspects of higher education for our American Indian students, staff, faculty, and community members.
