This is Katie’s third year working in TRIO SSS. She is a graduate student in the department of Curriculum and Instruction and is working towards a degree in Discipline Based Education Research (DBER). Prior to graduate school, she worked for fourteen years as a K-12 science teacher. Specifically, at an international school, a rural public school, a private school in NYC, and an online school. As the Integrated Learning instructor for Biology, she sees her role as two-fold. First, she wants to support students while they learn biological content. Second, she works diligently to teach students how to study efficiently. Outside of work, she enjoys watching sports, gardening, and spending time with family and friends!
