Hello and welcome! My name is Reggie Gandy and I’m so excited to be working with you on your academic journey here at CEHD. While I was born in Chicago and lived shortly in Portland, Oregon, I have spent most of my time in Minneapolis. Fun fact I actually went to high school just down the road at DeLaSalle High School on Nicollet Island. I earned my BA in Mass Communication with a specific focus in Broadcast Journalism from South Dakota State University. I also have an MA in Teaching that I received from Augsburg University.

As a first generation college student I wasn’t sure what to expect applying to colleges. Luckily for me I was able to gain an athletic scholarship to play football at SDSU. I spent 5 years playing football and while not on the field, I worked in the Human Resources department. Because of this, I learned a lot about navigating campus and what resources were available to me as a student. I hope to be able to share some of those tools and resources I learned with you while you’re on your journey!

Before starting a career in education I worked in a variety of roles. I started as a finance and accounting recruiter helping professionals gain employment across the metro. Eventually I found a job in journalism that took me to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where I worked as an investigative and digital media producer. Through this, I realized how much I enjoyed helping people learn and gain the resources they needed to be successful and that led me to education for the past several years.
