The 2025 McNair Scholars

TRIO McNair Research Symposium takes place October 14

CEHD’s TRIO McNair Scholars Program will host the 34th Annual McNair Scholars Research Symposium on Tuesday, October 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Coffman Memorial Union’s Great Hall.

This past summer, McNair Scholars conducted original research alongside distinguished faculty mentors. The symposium offers an opportunity to explore their projects, engage with student researchers, and celebrate their achievements. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.

Immediately following the symposium, the UMN Graduate School will host the Graduate Programs Fair in the same location. Open to all undergraduate students, the fair will feature representatives from graduate and professional programs across the Twin Cities and Duluth campuses. Registration is available through the Graduate Program's Fair website.

Housed in CEHD, the TRIO McNair Scholars Program is a federally funded initiative designed to increase doctoral applications, enrollment, and degree completion among first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. McNair is part of the broader family of federally funded TRIO programs—including TRIO Student Support Services and TRIO Upward Bound—that provide mentoring, academic support, financial guidance, and resources to expand educational access and student success.
