CEHD is committed to supporting both your academic and personal growth. We encourage you to participate in CEHD’s student advisory committees and student groups to find your community. CEHD’s academic advisers guide you from orientation through graduation by helping you choose classes, connecting you to campus resources, and getting to know your strengths and interests.
Learning at a research institution
Research is a part of everyday life at the University of Minnesota, and CEHD is no exception. Our faculty incorporate innovative research into their curriculum, and your degree is backed up with current knowledge and best practices from around the world.
In addition to research that informs your learning, you can participate in it yourself. The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program pairs you with faculty and graduate students in researching issues that affect communities, states, and countries. Dive in to research as an undergrad, and you will stand out to future employers and graduate and professional programs.
An international experience, in the Twin Cities
Our campus is the only Big 10 school centered in the heart of a major metropolitan area, giving you access to communities and cultures to broaden your knowledge of the world. Enroll in a service-learning course or find opportunities to get involved through the Community Service-Learning Center.
CEHD attracts students from over 50 countries, giving classrooms and student life angles that reach far beyond Minnesota. We also offer major-specific study abroad options; stay on track to graduate while you bring your studies to life in places like England, Thailand, or Kenya.
