COVID-19 update for employers

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, most U of M staff and faculty will be working remotely, and classes have been moved online until at least April 1. During this time, I can be reached by email or by calling 612-626-7432 and pressing '0'. As your connection to students, I know this change impacts your spring recruitment efforts with CEHD and would like to offer my support. Here are some ways you can continue to connect with our students:

Employer e-Drop-ins

  • The best way I have found to do this is Skype because of its call in capability which Google Meet and Zoom don't have. Here is a tutorial I made on how we would work together to set up Skype Employer e-Drop-ins.
  • Videos or Recorded Webinars talking about open opportunities and how to apply
  • Live Webinars: We do not coordinate webinar broadcasting or recording but will share any links/ details to live webinars you give us. For technical support or to learn how to do a webinar connect with the appropriate staff in your office.

Our students all have Google Meet and Zoom access on their computers so if you choose to take advantage of these recruitment ideas keep this in mind. I will be sending out weekly emails to students with a list of employer online webinars/e-drop-ins every Tuesday until April 1st, so please get details to me by Monday at noon. Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas on how we can best support you.

Students in the College of Education and Human Development are perfect for your organization. Our students are preparing for careers in business, education, human resource development, health and wellness, and human services careers. Plus, CEHD has the most diverse student body at the University of Minnesota, with the talent and background to be great additions to your organization.
