When to monitor progress in writing

Screening is conducted quarterly during the fall, winter, and spring terms.

Progress Monitoring is conducted more frequently. The frequency can range from weekly to monthly, depending on the goals and student progress.

Written expression requires more time and effort to score the writing passages. Most teachers of deaf and hard of hearing find monitoring student progress in written English every two weeks to be efficient.

It is important to be consistent and to follow instructions faithfully to ensure the best comparison of scores.
